All clients are required to save a card on file in order to schedule an appointment. First time extension clients are required to pay a $500 non-refundable (but transferable if needed) deposit in order to book their appointment. This deposit goes toward their final service total. By paying this deposit and/or by booking an appointment, you agree to our policies and procedures.
All guests are required to keep a card on file via secure electronic encryption through Square for late cancellation and no-show purposes. Your card will never be charged without your knowledge or outside the circumstance of policy breach.
If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, you are subject to a late charge of $35 if the stylist has heard from you and is still able to fit you in without disrupting her schedule. If you are too late and she is not able to get you in, you will need to reschedule and will be subject to a charge equal to 50% of the service total. If you are more than 15 minutes late and your stylist hasn't heard from you, that is considered a No-call, No-show and you will be subject to a fee equal to 100% of the service total.
If you are unable to make it to your appointment for any reason, you must let your stylist know at least 48 hrs in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. If you cancel or reschedule within less than 48 hours of your appointment time you will be subject to a charge equal to 50% of the service total. Same-day cancellations or failure to show up for your appointment will incur a charge equal to 100% of the scheduled service total. This is because it doesn't give us adequate time to fill that spot or give the clients on our waitlist an opportunity to receive the services they need. When we aren't given enough notice to fill that spot, not only are we missing out on a paycheck, but we are losing money that is being spent on rent, assistants, etc. Our clients are our top priority and there are specific circumstances where exceptions can be made, but that is under discretion of the stylist. The best way to avoid any cancellation fees is to shoot us a quick message at least 48 hrs before your appointment if you will be unable to make it. New extension installations must be canceled or rescheduled at least 2 weeks before the scheduled appointment time to avoid any cancellation fees or forfeit of deposit. This is because we begin prepping and customizing your extension hair before-hand and it is non-refundable.
At Madison Avenue Salon, we want every client to love their color. Because of this, we do offer technical adjustments when needed — we just ask that clients reach out within the appropriate time frame so we can help. Refunds and exchanges are not offered on any services. Once a service is performed, the time, product, and professional work cannot be returned. Technical adjustments are available if you reach out within 7 days of your appointment and there is a technical issue with your color. These adjustments are complimentary (one per client). After the 7-day window, adjustments will be charged at full price, as many factors outside of our control can affect your hair once you leave the salon (home care, heat styling, environmental exposure, etc.).
Please note: a change of preference is different from an adjustment. If the service was completed as discussed and the client later decides they want a different color or style, this is considered a change of preference and will be charged at full price. Complimentary adjustments are limited to one (1) to keep things fair for both parties and prevent “testing out” colors or multiple free services. Any additional adjustments after the complimentary adjustment will incur a $20 per bowl product fee.
While it is completely up to you whether you would like your face in photos or not, we do reserve the right to take photos of the back of your hair (before, after and during) for proof of service. Any photos taken are property of Madison Avenue and may be use for social media and marketing purposes.
By scheduling an appointment you are also acknowledging that hair color involves processes using chemicals. Your stylist will do everything in her power to achieve your goals while preserving the health of your hair, but you also acknowledge that there are many factors and variables that can influence how the chemicals react to your hair that, often-times, is out of your stylist’s control. While we do everything possible to preserve the health of your hair, bleaching hair can be a damaging process. In order to keep your hair healthy, home care is just as important as what is done in the salon. You also acknowledge that hair is like a snowflake- everyone is unique and it is nearly impossible to exactly replicate an inspiration picture. Inspo pictures are guidelines, not guarantees. If you fail to notify your stylist of at-home or non-professional hair color (sally’s color is NON professional), a $100 fee may be applied to your service because your stylist is now doing a color correction. By booking an appointment you agree to these policies.
